On 23 January 2012, Ambassador Apichart Chinwanno, accompanied by Ms. Usa Kullaprawithaya, Science and Technology Minister Counsellor, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Janez Poto?nik, European Commissioner for Environment, following the assumption of his duties as the new Thai Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg and Head of Mission of Thailand to the European Union. Ambassador Apichart and Commissioner Poto?nik discussed areas of possible cooperation and exchanged views on various issues including effective water management systems, the upcoming Rio+20 Earth Summit 2012 in June 2012, FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade), and CITES. Commissioner Poto?nik expressed his support of cooperation environmental projects with Thailand.
