European Parliament Delegation visited Thailand

The Delegation of the European Parliament for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) led by Chairman Dr. Werner Langen visited Thailand from 27 to 31 August 2012. During the visit, the Delegation paid the courtesy calls on Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Mr. Kittirat Na Ranong, Duputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr.Jullapong Nonsrichai, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and had several meetings with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Members of the House Committee for Foreign Affairs, as well as exchanged views with the representative of the government agencies, business sectors and civil societies both in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The purpose of the Delegation’s visit aimed to take stock of recent political, economic and social developments in Thailand and to promote closer relations between the European Parliament and the Thai Government and the Parliament.
