On 25 June 2013 Ambassador Apichart Chinwanno, delivered welcome remarks at the “Travel Different Thailand” book launch. The Royal Thai Embassy commissioned Mr. Richard Werly to write “Travel Different Thailand” to introduce a different Thailand – a vibrant and creative Thailand deeply rooted in local wisdom, Buddhist and Eastern philosophies, and His Majesty the King’s Sufficiency Economy philosophy. A different Thailand that has developed through sustainable living and a balanced lifestyle that emphasizes responsible consumption, conscious use of resources, and development from within.
Other speakers at the event who shared their impressions and experiences in Thailand included Mr. Richard Werly, author of “Travel Different Thailand,” and Ms. Myriam Thys, a well-known travel journalist and photographer who has visited Thailand 45 times. Ms. Aroonwan Kosiyakul, representative of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Office in Brussels also introduced new travel packages and products suited to the changing trends and needs of Belgian travelers, followed by a presentation by Katrien Depauw, District Sales Manager, Belgium and Luxembourg for Thai Airways International.
The book launch was well attended by tour operators, tour media and journalists. Mrs. Areerat Chunprapanusorn, Director, TAT Office in Paris also participated in the event. The book launch ended with a lucky draw for a roundtrip Brussels-Bangkok ticket complimentary of Thai Airways.
