On 23 October 2013, ASEAN Ambassadors paid a courtesy visit at the Thai Residence to bid farewell to Ambassador Apichart Chinwanno who will soon finish his tour of duty as Thai Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and also congratulate him for his new assignment as Thai Ambassador to Paris, France.
As the current ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC) Chair, Ambassador Manolom Phosaya from Lao PDR presented Ambassador Apichart with a farewell Memento – a lovely silver dish engraved with memorable note, full names, titles and signatures of all ASEAN Ambassadors in Brussels. Furthermore , in his capacity as the current Chair of South Asia/Far East/South East Asia (SAFESEA) Group, Ambassador Hem Saem of Cambodia likewise presented a farewell gift on behalf of the members of SAFESEA Group.
ASEAN Ambassadors also congratulated Ambassador Apichart for his recent audience with H.M. King Philippe, The King of the Belgians at the Royal Palace in Brussels on 21 October 2013. On that auspicious occasion, H.M. King Philippe bestowed the royal decoration “Grand Croix de l’ Ordre de la Couronne” upon Ambassador Apichart in recognition of his services and contribution as Thai Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Ambassador Apichart is scheduled to leave Belgium on 31 October 2013 to assume his tour of duty as Thai Ambassador to Paris, France.
