On 12 February 2014 Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool joined ASEAN Ambassadors in visiting the ASEAN Welcome Office in Namur, Walloon. The Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) opened the ASEAN Welcome Office in October 2013 to help ASEAN companies test and launch their business in the European market.
The ASEAN Welcome Office offers office space and many personalized services for free, excluding telecommunications costs. Services include a permanent expert who can provide advice in practical and logistical matters (visas, travel permits, etc.), legal issues, administrative assistance in evaluating the prospects of entering the European (feasibility studies, market studies, etc.), and networking with leading European professionals in the industry. The Office can also help businesses access public incentives and obtain grants provided by regional and European authorities.
