On 4th June 2014, Ambassador Nopadol Gunnavibool delivered an opening speech for a seminar “Thai Belgium Business Forum: One year after” which was co-organized by the Board of Investment (Thailand) and the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels. There were about 80 participants from private sectors in Belgium attended a seminar. Presentations were given by Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Deputy Secretary General of BOI Thailand on key industrial sectors which BOI give emphasis on and incentives given to those private sectors interested in doing business in Thailand. Ms. Pimchanok Vonkhorporn, Commercial Minister presented win-win benefits for Thailand and the EU arising from the ongoing FTA negotiations. The three speakers from the Thai side reassured the audience that Thai economic foundations remain solid and unchanged and that Thailand is pursuing an outward looking strategy so Thailand welcomes foreign investors to Thailand as before. The seminar followed by presentations of CEOs from the well known Belgium Companies such as Tracebel (GDF SUEZ) and Magotteaux (Chemical Industrial Manufacturing) about the lessons learnt, best practice, and successful stories which have received such an overwhelm interests among the audiences. Prior the forum, the Thai delegation visited Bekaert Company, the world’s leading wire and tire manufacturing in Belgium.
