An “Inspiring Thailand” Evening

On 6 November 2014 the Embassy, in cooperation with Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Thai Airways International, organized an “Inspiring Thailand” evening at the Residence to promote the MICE industry in Thailand. The event was well attended by 50 high ranking executives and representatives from the corporate sector, business associations, event organizers, incentive agents, tour operators and media.

Upon their arrival, guests were warmly greeted by Ambassador Nopadol and his wife, and they had a chance to network and sample popular Thai appetizers before the program started. Ambassador Nopadol delivered welcoming remarks, followed by presentations on “Why Thailand should be your next meeting and incentive destination” by Ms. Vichaya Soonthornsaratoon, Director of Meeting, Incentive and Convention Department, TCEB, and “Thailand is so near” by Mrs Katrien Depauw, District Sales Manager Belgium & Luxembourg, Thai Airways International. The evening ended with a buffet dinner of authentic Thai cuisine and a lucky draw to win prizes from Thai Airways International and TCEB. Ms. Linda Debois, Komatsu Europe, was the lucky winner of a roundtrip ticket Brussels-Bangkok with Thai Airways International, and Mr. Claude Boumal, journalist, won a prize from TCEB.

Before leaving, guests shared their impressions of a memorable and “Inspiring Thailand” evening of Thai culture complete with Thai traditional dances, flavourful Thai dishes, and intricate fruit and vegetable carvings, which was the perfect venue to learn more about MICE opportunities and exchange ideas on possible programs to Thailand.
