On December 1st, 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted a national day reception on the occasion of the upcoming 87th anniversary of the His Majesty the King’s birthday on December 5th, 2014, at the Sheraton Brussels Hotel, from 18.30 to 20.30 hrs. His Excellency Nopadol Gunavibool, the Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, proposed a toast to express well-wishes to Their Majesties the King of the Belgians and the King of Thailand. The ambassador, then, led the staff of the Thai mission and the Thai community in Belgium to express their loyalty and birthday wish to His Majesty the King by pledging loyalty to the monarchy, candle lighting and singing, in unison, Sadudee Maharaja and the royal anthem. The celebration was attended by approximately 400 guests, including Chief of Protocol of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium, representatives from the Belgian armed forces, officials from the European Commission and the European External Action Service, Members of the European Parliament, diplomatic corps and members of the Thai community in Belgium.
