On February 5th, 2015, Dr Mark Higgie, the Ambassador of Australia to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the EU paid an introductory call on Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool, at the Royal Thai Embassy, Brussels. Ambassador Noppadol welcomed Ambassador Higgie who was a classmate of the Ambassador during his study in England. The ambassadors discussed Australia’s and Thailand’s relations with Belgium and the EU as well as the initiative to promote interactions between ASEAN Brussels Committee and ASEAN’s dialogue partners in Brussels. Ambassador Noppadol also mentioned the upcoming Thailand-Belgium Science Technology and Innovation Forum, which will be held in Thailand from February 20th to 25th, 2015.
In addition, the Ambassador had an opportunity to answer questions regarding the political situation in Thailand and the unrest in the 3 southernmost provinces, to which Thailand is using development as a resolution strategy.
