On 7 May 2015 Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool, Heads of Offices and officers from Team Thailand attended the first ever “Thailand Fan Club” event from 18.30-23.00 hrs. at Theatre Vaudeville, Brussels organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Paris. This event was a chance for Thailand Fan Club members to meet one another and learn more about Thailand. Approximately 150 people attended the event composed of 100 Thailand Fan Club members, travel agents, tour operators, media and bloggers.
Participants had a chance to take part in a game show to find the “true” fan of Thailand. The game show presented information about historical and natural tourist attractions and beach destinations, as well as Thai culture and food, and foreign movies filmed in Thailand, and contestants were then asked to answer questions on those topics. The grand prize winner received a roundtrip Brussels-Bangkok air ticket with Thai Airways, hotel accommodation and gift vouchers to enjoy Thai meals at participating restaurants. The event was also publicized throughout the event via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram in French, Flemish and English and #mathailande or #mijnthailand (“My Thailand.”)
