TAT launches campaign to boost tourism industries of 55 target cities

BANGKOK, 4 January 2018 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched the Amazing Thailand Go Local campaign, in a bid to generate at least 10 billion baht in revenue for grassroots economies.

The campaign is divided into seven activities, consisting of “Enjoy Local” to promote local products and services through a rewards program, “SET in the Local” to stimulate the MICE industry in communities, “Local Link” to subsidize food for tours in the target cities, “Eat Local” to promote food, “Our Local” to promote cultural heritage, “Local Heroes” to develop tourism personnel, and “Local Strength” to boost cooperation between government agencies and the private sector.

The Cabinet has also approved tax incentives for the tourism in the 55 cities.
