On 4 June 2018, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium together with Assistant Professor Paron Chatakul, and students from the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalonglorn University, paid a visit to the Meise Botanical Garden in Brussels. They were welcomed by Mr. Steven Dessein, Director of the Meise Botanical Garden, who presented them on the background information and mission of the Meise Botanical Garden, as well as guided the delegation through the botanical garden. On this occasion, both sides also explored the possible cooperation between Thailand and Belgium on botanical garden.
The Meise Botanical Garden covers 92 hectare of land and possesses the largest greenhouse in Belgium. It is one of the most important botanical garden in the world with 18,000 species of plants. The garden is famous for research on tropical and European plants and also contributes to plant conservation in natural environment in partnership with many national and international botanical gardens and conservation organisations.
