CHIANG RAI, 14th June 2018 (NNT) – Chiang Rai province is promoting its textiles and ornaments to the international market by highlighting cultural aspects to enhance the product value.
The Chiang Rai Provincial Industrial Office on Thursday (June 14th) held a workshop on accessories and textiles development and design to entrepreneurs and students in Chiang Rai and surrounding provinces.
Participants were given the know-how on fashion, creative design, sewing, and product development using technology and innovation to help differentiate the products.
Textile and garment industries are key industries for Thailand’s economy, while global competition has signified the need to enhance the value of products and increase competitiveness using creativity.
The Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai, Somboon Siriwet, said applying Chiang Rai’s Lanna culture into fashion designs will make the products more attractive to both Thai and international customers. He said this would generate more income to the northern region.
