BOI to give incentives to four major investors

BANGKOK, 25th July 2018 (NNT) – The Board of Investment (BOT) of Thailand has approved incentives for four projects totaling almost 29 billion baht a year. These projects are expected to help increase the consumption of raw materials in the country.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday presided over the BOI meeting on the board’s incentives for large projects. The four projects will use raw materials totaling more than 19.48 billion baht each year.

The first project is an expansion of feed production by Mars Pet Care Thailand Co., Ltd. in Chon Buri province. The plant plans to use raw materials worth 794 million baht.

The second project is an expansion of the manufacturing of hybrid electric vehicles and batteries for electric cars by Nissan Motors Thailand. The company plans to use 15.9-billion-baht’s worth of raw materials each year.

The third project is Honda Automobile’s expansion of the manufacture of the same types of products as Nissan Motors Thailand. The company will use raw materials worth around 2.76 billion baht. It will also manufacture more parts in Thailand to substitute for imports in the future.

The last project is an expansion of the aviation business of Thai AirAsia X to provide more scheduled and charter flights.
