SATUN, 2nd August 2018 (NNT) – The southern province of Satun has opened a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified compressed rubber processing plant aimed for international exports, helping local farmers to earn more income.
The Deputy Governor of Satun, Charuwat Kliangklao, presided over the opening ceremony of a GMP certified compressed rubber processing factory owned by the Khuan Kalong Rubber Fund Cooperative in Satun province on Thursday (Aug 2nd)
The President of Khuan Kalong Rubber Fund Cooperative, Kareem Yuhanan, said the processing factory initially operates only the smoking of rubber sheets by 17 cooperative members. The factory delivers processed rubber products for the production of products, such as the paving of footsall field, rubber sweepers, compound rubber, rubber pillow, and rubber slippers.
The factory has now been upgraded to be able to compress rubber sheets into cubes for export, which is a response to the low rubber price issue. The renovation of the factory receives financial support by Satun province.
The processing facility now features 10 compressors and a conveyor belt system. The factory is aimed to export compressed rubber to China, which is the biggest rubber buyer for rubber from Satun, helping local farmers to earn more profit.
The Deputy Governor said the upgrade of this facility is an important strategy to help raise rubber prices and initiate further innovations related to rubber products, making the quality of rubber from Satun being recognized around the world.
