On 22 May 2019, Ms. Chalida Chochai, Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council of Thailand met with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) to discuss about Global Peace Index. Later on they attended a roundtable discussion with representatives from Embassies in Brussels, EEAS and NATO, organized by the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS), during which the participants discussed about the role of Thailand as ASEAN Chairman on issues such as South China Sea, situation in Rakhine State and the conflicts between superpowers.
On 21 May 2019, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, hosted dinner for the delegation with the presence of representatives from IEP, EIAS, Belgian Federal Public Services of Foreign Affairs and EEAS. They exchanged their views on the security situation in the region.
