During 26-28 November 2019, the Thai delegation led by Prof. Dr. Amara Pongsapich, Chair of ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), Mr. Wanchai Roujanavong, Chair of ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) and Mrs. Phattana Phanfak, representative of the Chair of ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW), attended the 3rd EU-ASEAN Policy Dialogue on Human Rights in Brussels. Mr. Eamon Gilmore, EU Special Representative on Human Rights gave the opening speech and the meeting was co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Amara Pongsapich and Mr. David Daly, Head of South East Asia Division, European External Action Service. Both sides discussed human rights situation in EU and ASEAN. Eu side commended the role of AICHR in the past 10 years since its establishment and pledged work closely with ASEAN to promote human rights in line with EU-ASEAN Action Plan.
