On 28 September 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy invited Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, former Ambassador who is currently serving as a special advisor to the Office of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Special Development Zone, to participate as a kick-starter in an online roundtable debate on “High-Quality Connectivity for a Post COVID-19 World”. During the roundtable, which was organized by Brussels-based think tank ‘Friends of Europe’, Mr. Sihasak highlighted the EEC’s potential to serve as a driver of economic growth for Thailand. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing international cooperation in sustainable infrastructure, and ensuring that the benefits of infrastructure development accrue to the country concerned and its people.
