Travelling to Thailand ( Alternative Quarantine)

Alternative Quarantine

Travellers who have not been fully vaccinated (5 night-quarantine) 

Registration on Thailand Pass for travelers entering Thailand from 1 May 2022 under new entry measures will be opened from 29 April 2022 onwards (00.01 hrs Thailand time) 

***From 1 May 2022, travelers entering Thailand by air will be subject to new entry measures, as follows;

🔴  Unvaccinated Persons  

🔸(Option 2 – Quarantine) Travelers who cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before traveling or wish to be quarantined must :
– Register on Thailand Pass
– Attach required documents including passport, Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (including 1 RT-PCR test)
– Attach proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)

– undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 4 – 5 in Thailand during the mandatory 5-day quarantine at AQ hotel

PLEASE NOTE Travelers whose Thailand Pass have already been issued can travel with the issued QR Code and do not need to register for new Thailand Pass


 

Step 1 : Before departure date  : Thailand Pass registration*

*** From 1 November 2021 onwards, all travellers arriving in Thailand by air are required to register for Thailand Pass  (https://tp.consular.go.th/). The approval process takes at least 7 working days. Therefore, travellers are required to submit their registration at least  7 days before the intended departure date.

*** The Thailand Pass is not a replacement of a visa.  If a visa is required, travellers must ensure that they have obtained an appropriate visa before travelling. Visa application process can take up to 4 weeks. For more information, please see https://www.thaiembassy.be/visa/?lang=en .

  • ***Tips for TP registration
    • register with a computer or a laptop on Google Chrome browser
    • register with gmail ( avoid registering with emails from hotmail and yahoo because the system has not yet supported)
    • Upload your files in JPEG JPG and PNG formats ( PDF is not yet supported).
    • Upload a proof of fully paid AQ/SHA+ in a format of a confirmation letter. If the reservation is not directly done with the hotel but rather with online platform, please contact the hotel to obtain such a letter. Each letter contains different reservation reference number.
    • Insert a space between the first two letters of your passport number and the rest of the number such as EP123456. Please register as EP (tab a space bar 1 time ) 1234567  if the system mentions API server error.
    • In case that you are leaving for Thailand for good, please insert  999 in Length of Stay (Day).

     Required documents:

  • A copy of passport valid more than 6 months

  • Medical insurance 

    which covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID-19, with a minimum coverage of equivalent to 10,000 USD.

  • Flight ticket

    • No domestic flights are allowed, except that of layovers without leaving the airplane. Those unvaccinated who undertake a quarantine have to take a seal-route flight to their destination and be subject to quarantine at their destination.
  • AQ hotel confirmation for 5 nights


 Step 2 : Arriving in Thailand

        2.1 Quarantine measures

                – Travellers arriving in Thailand are required to undergo a 5-day quarantine at Alternative Quarantine (AQ) facility

Reservation must be made for “AQ package “ for 5 nights at the travellers’ own expenses.

Reservations can be done through the following approved platforms :

  1. Hotels on the list of AQ
  2. https://asq.locanation.com/
  3. https://asq.ascendtravel.com/

Remarks  : Travellers arrving at Suvarnnabhumi Airport or Don Muang Airport may reserve AQ in Chonburi or Prachinburi only.

                      Travellers arriving in Phuket may reserve AQ in Phuket or Pang-Nga only.

2.2  RT-PCR Test

  • RT-PCR test will be conducted on day 5.
