On 6 August 2021, the H.E. Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand, presided over the presentation of the Royal Decoration for Mr. Jim Warny, a Belgian national, who assisted in the rescue mission at the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non National Park, Chiang Rai province, Thailand. Mr. Warny’s father and son also participated in the ceremony. Mr. Warny had been residing in the Republic of Ireland for many years and was visiting family members in Belgium for a week. The Royal Thai Embassy was able to organize this ceremony upon learning of his visit to Belgium.
