On 23 September 2021, H.E Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand and Head of Mission to the EU met with Mrs. Barbara Plinkert, Head of Division for Southeast Asia and ASEAN of the EEAS, at the Royal Thai Embassy, on the occasion Mrs. Plinkert’s assumption to her new position. They had fruitful and in-depth discussions on important developments in the region, including on ways to strengthen ASEAN-EU relations and the strategic partnership within the context of the EU’s Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. They also discussed and followed-up on issues on Thailand-EU relations.
