Ambassador of Thailand delivers opening remarks at the online Business Roundtable on “Sustainability in EU-Thailand Trade Relations”

On 29 September 2021, H.E. Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand and Head of Mission to the EU, gave opening remarks at the online Business Roundtable on “Sustainability in EU-Thailand Trade Relations”. The webinar was co-organized by the Thai Ministry of Commerce, the Office of Commercial Affairs in Brussels, the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC), and the Thai-European Business Association (TEBA).

On this occasion, Ambassador Sek highlighted Thailand’s long-standing record of promoting linkages between sustainable development and trade at multilateral, regional and bilateral levels, including in Thailand-EU relations. Ambassador Sek emphasized that trade is an instrument for development, and bilateral FTAs need to be for mutual benefit. This was followed by an informative session by distinguished speakers focused on relevant sectors, including sustainable fishery, future mobility and climate neutral agri-food system.
