On 8 March 2023, H.E Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand and Head of Mission to the EU, met with Mr. Gerassismos Thomas, Director-General, Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union at the latter’s Office. Both sides discussed the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and its potential impact on Thai exporters, as well as possible cooperation to help Thai exporters adapt to the CBAM. On this occasion, the Ambassador extended an invitation to a representative of DG TAXUD to participate in an information sessions on CBAM that the Embassy will organize for interested parties in Thailand on 28 March 2023, to which Mr. Thomas responded positively.
