Thai Passport

Passport Application  (latest update on 23 June 2021)

Applicants must come to the Royal Thai Embassy in person for the passport application.

Required documents for Thai-national aged 20 years and above

  1. A completed Passport application form
  2. A completed personal information form
  3. The latest Thai passport and a copy
  4. Original Thai ID card and a copy
  5. Acopy of Thai House Registration (Tabian Baan)
  6. A recent photograph, 3*5 cm., white background
  7. Fee: (please prepare exact amount in cash or pay with Bancontact)
    • for a 5-year validity passport, 35 Euros
    • for a 10-year validity passport, 50 Euros
  1. In case of passport loss, a police report which clearly indicates the loss of your Thai passport and passport number is required.

Required documents for Thai-nationals aged below 20 years old

  1. A completed Passport application form
  2. A completed personal information form
  3. The latest Thai passport and a copy
  4. A copy of Thai Birth Certificate
  5. A copy of parents’ marriage certificate
  6. If father and mother are Thai national : original Thai ID card and a copy
  7. If father or mother is non-Thai national : original national ID card and a copy
  8. Applicant’s original Thai ID card and a copy (if appplicable)
  9. A copy of Thai House Registration (Tabian Baan) (see remark 1)***
  10. A recent photograph, 3*5 cm., white background
  11. Fee: 35 euros (please prepare exact amount in cash or pay with Bancontact)

***Remarks*** 

  1. Applicants who were not born in Thailand, have not possessed 13-digit Identification number and have not been registered in a Thai House Registration (Tabian Baan) will only be permitted to apply for their first passport. Application for a second passport requires that the applicant be registered in a Thai House Registration (for more information, please contact passport.brs@mfa.mail.go.th)
  2. Applicants aged below 20 years must be accompanied by both their parents. In case only one parent is present, please provide the following documents :
    • Child Custody Form (Por Kor 14) and a copy; or
    • Divorce Certificate and a copy; or
    • Death Certificate of the deceased parent and a copy; or
    • The original Letter of Consent by the absent parent issued no more than 6 months and a copy of the parent’s Thai ID card (the Letter of Consent can be requested at the Department of Consular Affairs and the District Office in Thailand or at the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in the country where the parent resides).

Birth Certificate

Application for a Thai Birth Certificate

  1. Concerns:
  •     children born in Belgium or in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
  •     of a Thai parent (father or mother)
  1. Documents to provide :
  •  2.1 Concerning the child :
    • a) International Birth Certificate (in 4 languages), legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
    • b) A copy of the birth declaration delivered by the hospital with the following details :
      • first name and last name of the child
      • weight of the child at birth
      • date and time of birth
      • name and address of the hospital

 

  •  2.2 Documents related to the parents :
    • a) of the Thai parent
      • a copy of the Thai Identity card
      • a copy of the Thai passport
      • a copy of the residence registration book (Tabian Baan)
    • b) of the non-Thai parent
      • a copy of the Identity card
      • a copy of the passport
      • a copy of the household composition in Belgium
    •  c)Marriage certificate of parents
      • if married in Thailand, a copy of the marriage certificate
      • if married in Belgium, a copy of the international marriage certificate, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
      • if married in another country, the marriage certificate has to be translated into English and legalized by the relevant Embassy

 


Death Certificate

 Documents required:

  1. a) International death certificate

→ To be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (rue des Petits Carmes 27, 1000 Brussels)

  1. b) A document from the doctor declaring the death
  2. c) A copy of the Thai identity card/Thai passport/Tabian Baan from the deceased
  3. d) A copy of the identity card of the person who declares the death

Authorization to bring the ashes to Thailand

  1. a) International death certificate

→ To be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (rue des Petits Carmes 27, 1000 Brussels)

  1. b) A copy of of the Thai identity card of the deceased
  2. c) 15 € to pay cash

Military Draft Deferment

Registrant Enrollment and Military Draft Deferment for Thai students who are studying abroad (Belgium and Luxembourg)

Every Thai male citizens is required by law to join military draft when;

  1. Turning 18 years old, one has to enroll for registered status by presenting birth certificate or Thai identity card and a copy of Thai House Registration document to local Registrar (Military Personnel Recruitment) in person. If one cannot present the documents by oneself, authorization can be passed to someone who is of a legal age (over 20 years old) to enroll on one’s behalf. If one failed to enroll or no authorized person enrolled on his behalf, one will be regarded as violating the Registrant Enrollment.
  2. Completing 21 years old, one has to join military draft locally, where one is registered to according to House Registration document. For Thai male citizens who are studying in Belgium or Luxembourg can apply for Military Draft Deferment by presenting these documents;
    • 1. A letter from the university/educational institution confirming enrollment stating;
      • 1.1. Name and surname of student
      • 1.2. Field of study (current status/major/faculty/university/country)
      • 1.3. Dates enrolled and expected graduation date
      • 1.4. Length of study program (provide proof from university/educational institution)
      • 1.5. The original letter from the university/educational institution must be officially certified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium/Luxembourg.
      • 1.6. A letter from the university/educational institution must be translated into Thai language and signed to acknowledge that translation is accurate. (students can translate and sign by themselves)
    • 2. A copy of the Certificate of Registrant (Sor Dor 9) and a copy of Military Summon Letter (Sor Dor 35) (if there is one)
    • 3. A copy of Thai House Registration document
    • 4. A copy of Thai Identity Card (if there is one)
    • 5. A copy of Thai Passport
    • 6. Certificate issued by Royal Thai Embassy Brussels; obtain by submitting the request at Royal Thai Embassy Brussels in person with documents in 2.1, 2.4 and 2.5.
    • 7. Prepare all the documents listed above (2.1 to 2.6) and submit to local Registrar or authorize someone who is of a legal age to submit on one’s behalf.
  3. After graduation, one has to join the first available military draft.
