           On 17 February 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels joined OH Leuven Football Club in organising OH Leuven Thai Fans Day for Thai community in Belgium and the Embassy team including consular section to meet and express their support to two Thai football players in the Club i.e. Suphanat Mueanta (Bank), first Thai footballer who scored in the European league, Sirimongkol Rattanapoom (Tann) who joined OH Leuven for 3 years, and 3 half-Thai youth football players as well as to watch the game between OH Leuven and Charleroi. Around 50 people from the Thai community, including the families the half-Thai youth players, attended the event.
            At the opening, after Mr. Chris Vanderbroeck, CEO of OH Leuven Football Club, greeted the Thai community, Ms. Warunee Pankrajang, Chargé d’Affaires, Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels, addressed the participants and applauded OH Leuven Football Club and the Thai football players for taking the initiative in organising the event and its pioneering role in promoting Thailand and Thai athletes to set foot in Belgium and Europe. She reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued efforts in supporting activities of Thai associations and organisations in Belgium with a view to strengthening the Thai community in Belgium on all fronts. During the event, the audience watched the interview of two Thai players, participated in the Quiz on Thailand’s and OH Leuven Club’s general knowledge led by Mr. Pathompong Singthong, Consul. Afterwards, the attendees enjoyed Thai food at the food truck as well as a football match between OH Leuven and Charleroi. The result of the match was 0-0.
