            On 12 April 2024, Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Belgium, and Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Ambassador's spouse, as well as Mr. Pathompong Singthong, Consul, paid a call on Phra Raja Visuddhivides, Abbot of Wat Thai Dhammaram, Waterloo, Belgium (Chau. De Louvain 71, 1410 Waterloo) upon the assumption of the Ambassador's duties and discussed on the Temple’s mission of spreading Buddhism in Belgium and Luxembourg, interfaith activities and with the Buddhism Union of Belgium (BUB), and future cooperation between the Embassy and the Temple, especially on supporting the official recognition of and raising awareness on Buddhism in Belgium. On this occasion, the Ambassador dedicated herself to support Buddhist affairs and activities of the temple as well as Thai community in Belgium and Luxembourg. 
             Wat Thai Dhammaram was established in 1999 and is the first Thai Buddhist temple in Belgium. Phra Raja Visuddhivides came to Belgium in 2000 and became the Abbot ever since. The Temple plays an important role in spreading Buddhism and is the centre of Thai and Buddhist people in Belgium. The Temple also regularly participates in local and interreligious activities.
