On 12 April 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Belgium, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Kingphokeo Phommahaxay, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, to introduce herself on the occasion of her assumption of duty. Both sides discussed the special relationship between Thailand and the Lao PDR as close neighbors with bonds in many aspects. Additionally, both sides discussed respective priorities areas with Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union as well as exchanged views on ABC’s work plan and possible activities to strengthen ASEAN-EU, Belgium and Luxembourg partnership. On this occasion, the Ambassador-designate expressed her readiness to exchange information and cooperate with the Embassy of Lao PDR in carrying out its work.
